Upshot introduces a new category of product that combines culture, collectibles, and prediction markets. We designed the brand, card, and pack systems, and the web marketplace - crafting a user experience that blends speculation, storytelling, and accessibility. The goal was to make a powerful, fun, and intuitive platform that reimagines predictions as collectible digital artifacts.

The Upshot identity blends a nostalgic 90s wordmark with playful elements like a shooting star and flipped card silhouette, creating a brand that feels both optimistic and rooted in collectible culture. Its web app delivers a smooth mobile-to-desktop experience, intentionally hiding Web3 complexity so the platform feels like a simple, approachable game. With features like a marketplace, auctions, and leaderboards, Upshot fosters a competitive and engaging community centered around prediction-based collectibles.

The pack-opening flow is designed to recreate the excitement of unboxing physical collectibles, allowing users to purchase, open, and reveal dynamic prediction cards one by one or all at once. Each card is visually rich, rarity-based, and tied to real-world events, remaining collectible even after resolution. Bold, gradient-filled packs heighten the sense of anticipation, while a lightweight creation tool in closed Alpha enabled users to generate their own cards with real-time previews. This participatory feature reinforced Upshot’s vision of empowering users to shape cultural moments through their predictions.
